Basketballs, and Oscars, and Super Smash... OH MY!

Been a whirlwind couple of days. Busy all the time... good news on all fronts though I suppose. More updates to come, the buisniess is about to subside.

Update before bed...

Never mind my previous comment about updating about my grandpa, thats family buiness...

Instead let me tell you about Manic Coffee. The place is amazing. That is all. Corner of College and Bathurst. I found out about them because they beat the barista from my work (Matter of Taste) in the Ontario barista championships, but let me tell you, any resentment I felt towards them melted away when I tasted their coffee. It was really good. I still have a fondness for Matter of Taste coffee, but this stuff was amazing.

I also got incredibly lost on the way there. Even though it was cold and miserable, I have to admit that getting lost, whether on the unfamiliar streets of a big city or simply in the suburbs of my town at night, is one of the most comforting feelings I've ever known. When you're lost you have no responsabilities. You answer to no one and nothing. The only person who decides if you're found again is you. Anyhow, it was good. I haven't wandered for the sake of wandering for ages, and rediscovering that joy made my day just a bit better.

Of course talking to a good friend also helped. You know who you are.

Christmas, you whimisical bastard you

Christmas is a blessing and a curse. I'm broke. I'm a little bummed out by a culmination of different events that all ended how expected, but not how I hoped. And finally, I'm stuck in the awkward "divorced-parents-want-to-share-the-kids-like-inanimate-objects" Christmas debacle that all single parent families find themselves in.

That being said, I love being with the extended fam. My grandpa celebrated his 80th birthday today (more on that later), and my cousins are wicked.

Also, my dad gifted my bro Rock Band 2 early so the entire family has been playing it, from the 80 year old to the 5 year old. Finally an example of how video games unite, rather than isolate. That being said, whenever I need to escape I've been playing a hella-lot of Final Fantasy 4 for the DS. Look it up, it will blow your tiny mind.

That is all.

Tired as hell...

Finally done the summative for writer's craft. Things are calming down again and I survived. I have not yet taken a sick day, which to my credit, is quite impressive all things considered. Good times mafackers.
